Granite Networks
Granite Networks was launched in February 2010 as another added value service for clients. This service provides 'by invitation only' events for clients, associates and the media twice a year to offer them the opportunity for further networking and business opportunities in a professional but fun atmosphere.
Granite Networks’ Midsummer Barbecue
Whilst the weather on 21st June was less than perfect for a barbecue, both the number of guests and the quality of the networking ensured another highly successful event.
The barbecue took place at Aberdeen Grammar School Former Pupils’ Club on Queens Road, and after a refreshing summer cocktail, courtesy of Orchid, guests enjoyed a traditional barbecue indoors, where they were able to make good use of both the main lounge and newly refurbished meeting rooms which the club now has available for corporate and private hire.
Both Orange, the main sponsor of the evening, and SureVoIP provided superb prizes for their respective business card draws, and Orchid a bottle of Veuve Cliquot. Granite Networks also launched its first directory of clients and associates, sponsored and produced by North East Publications & Marketing and, in place of a planned pétanque competition, a business-themed quiz took place with the 3 prize winners each receiving 2 bottles of wine generously donated by the Grant Smith Law Practice.

Burns Night 2011
The third highly successful Granite Networks event, a Burns' Night-themed evening at Simpson's Hotel on 25th January, was attended by over 200 clients, associates and media.
Including a wonderful buffet Burns' supper laid on by Simpson's with a dram sponsored by Deveron Homes, alongside the networking attendees helped Granite PR celebrate not only its 3rd birthday, but also the launch of its sister company, Granite Interactive, which offers corporate film services.
The event was organised by Business Plus Scotland and, in keeping with the flavour of the night, the staff were kitted out in kilts by McCalls. Although the evening did not follow the full tradition of a typical Burns' supper, Bill Henderson of Seggat Holiday Cottages did provide a resounding address to the haggis, whilst Lynne Holburn regaled the assembled company with a witty speech in the true spirit of the night.
All this was against the backdrop of a stunning display of wares from Jane's Design Studio and a vibrant looped presentation by North East Publications and Marketing.
Granite PR and Business Plus Scotland were also grateful for the support of Forth Wines and Rocket Print, and to the many clients and associates who provided generously for the prize draw.
The delegates enjoyed a packed evening and left with a smile on their faces and a warming wee gift to keep out the January chill, courtesy of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky and singlemaltsdirect.com
